Gerry O'Regan, IRA Decommissioning &The Onion

RTE Questions & Answers was elevated above its usual somnolescence in last night's edition by the presence of Gerard O'Regan, the "incoming" - as Bowman put it, and no doubt found apt by many Indo denizens nervously contemplating their future roles in the organisation - editor of the Irish Independent (has its own wikipedia entry - though none for Gerry himself yet).

Our old boss was in fine form, barely recognisable as the "Tabloid Terrier" of the Sunday Business Post's reasonably gentle profile (a good cartoon excuses quite a bit).

But in catching up with our reading we noticed that The Onion had added an item on IRA decommissioning. We never got the chance to ask Gerry why he's been moonlighting all these years as an Onion contributor.
